Our innovative new location-determining technology take a step away from satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS), and uses a unique algorithm-based approach to determine its location - processing network information gathered by the mobile phone. The result is location determination that is up to 10 times more accurate than standard Cell-ID location and the ability to work indoors and in areas with no satellite fix.
Trials conducted in conjunction with a leading telecom operator were found to have an accuracy of 83 percent in urban areas (within zero to 100 meters) and 79 percent in suburban areas (within zero to 250 meters).
Without the need for expensive network upgrades and investment in equipment, GPRX® is a simple and easily deployable solution where location determination is provided as a service by AGIS. This software-only location technology can be deployed via an application installed on Symbian and selected phone models of Windows, UIQ, Java phones or embedded on the SIM card.
